ElseHour policies and trust
Account deletion
Why there is currently no ElseHour account to delete and what the launch deletion path must provide.
No public accounts exist
ElseHour app accounts are not yet publicly available. This website does not currently accept waitlist addresses, so it does not create a waitlist record or app account for a visitor.
Before accounts open
ElseHour will provide:
- an in-app path to request permanent account and associated-data deletion;
- a functional web path that does not require reinstalling the app;
- recent authentication to confirm the request belongs to the account holder;
- clear information about immediate restrictions, the cooling-off period, completion timing, subprocessors, and limited lawful retention;
- separate guidance explaining that deleting an ElseHour account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription.
Planned first-50 behavior
The implemented source design immediately restricts product access and removes ephemeral source and push data when deletion is requested, allows cancellation during a 72-hour cooling-off period, and then runs an idempotent database, authentication, and subprocessor purge. Exact retention and completion language still require owner and legal approval before becoming policy.
Why there is no form here yet
An unauthenticated form that trusts an email address would not safely prove account ownership. The launch page will use a real authenticated deletion flow. Until accounts exist, displaying a functional-looking deletion control would be misleading.
